Shivhayom was created by Izzy Hochman, Jordan Schecther and Jake Stark. Our team was one of the lucky winners of the SharkTankMuseum2016 program from the Dana Gershon and Rabbi Jonah Pesner Northeast Leadership Summit.
Shivhayom שִׁוְהָיֹם – Equality through Awareness is a campaign designed to foster equality for people of all genders. Our product, pronoun wristbands, promotes an inclusive, comfortable and expressive Kehillah for all youth. With this product, we hope to start conversations to push for equality today, and create visibility for all genders.
In these teenage years of confusion, it’s so easy to feel rejected by your own community. Non-cisgenders feel this every day. Our goal is to promote affirmation one wristband at a time.
I’m a senior at the High School of American Studies at Lehman College, President of my TYG CRuSTY and I’m on the Membership Chair of NFTY NAR. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I believe it is my duty to fight for equality among all genders and sexualities.
I’m a senior at JFK High School and a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. As someone who hasn’t always felt comfortable in their own skin, I feel it’s my obligation to make the world a more accepting and expressive place. Shivhayom will hopefully tackle this and have a positive and lasting impact on our community.
I’m a freshman at American University studying Political Science and Community Service Based Research. I held positions in my local temple youth group for all of high school, served on the NFTY NAR regional board as the Social Action Vice President, and worked at URJ Crane Lake Camp. I am a dedicated ally to the LGBTQ+ community and am strongly dedicated to fighting for equality for all.
